FACE BOOK AND BLOGGING HAVE REPLACED CONVERSATION

Okay... I realized that while hemp is the new flax oil...and zero the new size 2... spirituality is the new behaviorism.  Maybe even the new BF Skinner.  While Freud and Jung vied for who whose explanation would best explain human behavior, we've had to wonder all these years whether the oneness of the unconscious or the unified field theory of the collective unconscious was a more appropriate way to view the human mind.

Well, Freud and Jung are both dead, and while both Marx and Freud told us that God "was" dead, Freud's vision in CIVILIZATION AND ITS DISCONTENT'S seems to be coming to fruition.  The old ways of viewing the world does not work.  And while the CD player is the new phonograph, face book and blogging are the new modes of conversation.  Face book and blogging, according to my ten year old son Gabriel, have replaced "passing notes to friends in class."

Ten years ago the Buddha was the new age of Aquarius. While Reiki and Energy work have become the new face of incense, UTUBE, FACEBOOK, BLOGGING, and TWITTER have safely become the new avenues to achieve altered states of consciousness.

  1. There are so many pros and cons to the amount of technology that is available to us. On one hand, you are able to reach many more people through this blog than you would through regular conversation. But blogging also takes away the personal intimacy that a face to face or voice conversation creates.

Either way, I'm glad that you did this!
